Assiniboia local almost forgets $100K winning EXTRA ticket on the fridge!

An Assiniboia resident nearly forgot a $100,000 winning DAILY GRAND and EXTRA ticket stuck to his fridge… without realizing he had won on EXTRA!

Patrick Hanson said the ticket for the June 17 draw had been on his fridge for some time when he suddenly remembered to check it. He grabbed his phone to scan it with the Lotto Spot app.

“I was stunned,” he said of discovering his win through the app. “I couldn’t believe it. I told my girlfriend first and she told me to take it in to [scan at] a retailer right away!”

Hanson said he already has ideas for how to spend his new $100,000.

“I’m planning to buy a vehicle and I’d definitely like to plan a trip, but I’m not sure where to yet,” he explained. “It’s amazing. It really is true that you can’t win if you don’t play!”

Hanson purchased his DAILY GRAND and EXTRA ticket from Shoppers Drug Mart at 424 Centre St. in Assiniboia. He won his prize by matching the last six numbers selected in the June 17 EXTRA draw: 3582404.
