$1 million LOTTO 6/49 win in Yellowknife!

Daniel Kudlak is looking toward a bright future after winning $1 million on LOTTO 6/49’s Gold Ball draw.

The Yellowknife resident won on the June 29 draw.

“I couldn’t believe it,” he said while claiming his prize. “I scanned the ticket once in-store, jumped back and thought, ‘Oh, my God!’”

“I took a quick look around to make sure no one was watching me,” he continued. “And I scanned the ticket a couple more times to make sure I was seeing something real.”

The Yellowknife local said he has his community on his mind.

“My wife and I are very involved in our community,” he said. “Every Saturday we start our weekend by taking a drive through town to make sure the homeless have a coffee and something for breakfast.”

“We also support our Inuit community program by providing food for those less fortunate,” he said. “It’s something we’d like to continue to support.”

But it’s not all about community for the new millionaire.

“We’re going to be responsible, of course,” he explained. “We’ll pay off our mortgage and put some away to help down the line.”

“We’ve also been talking about getting a bigger boat,” he continued. “We have a boat, but it’s not the biggest boat – I’d like to get one that can withstand the big lake.”

Kudlak picked up his winning LOTTO 6/49 ticket at the Shell Gas Station located at 482 Range Lake Road in Yellowknife. He won his prize by matching the Gold Ball draw selection on the June 29 draw – 32394737-01.

Myth:  I’ve noticed a pattern in the numbers that have been drawn over the past few weeks.

Fact:  Human brains like to look for patterns.  But any patterns you notice in lottery numbers are meaningless.  Looking at past numbers is like looking in the rearview mirror of your car – it doesn’t tell you what’s ahead.
